The useful moments between takes are rarely dramatic. Someone changes where they stand. A tempo settles after the room laughs. The arrangement loses one part and suddenly sounds complete.
Live sessions keep those decisions close to the surface. There is less distance between making the choice and hearing what it changes. That is part of why I want the archive to hold more than finished releases. Process deserves a visible place too.
